Making the Eames Molded Chair

No wonder the furniture of Charles Eames is so beautiful. This video, circa the 70s shows the design and production process behind one of the Eames molded chairs.

I was really impressed with the opening part of the clip that shows them making the shape of the char based on the human form. The rig they used is so simple too—wood dow rods, some 2x4s that slide to adjust the form of the back, and a person sitting in the wireframe of the chair.

Simple. Beautiful.
