In this article, we focus on listening as the most critical communication skill, listing five reasons why it holds such significance. First, active listening demonstrates empathy and respect toward the speaker. Second, it makes the speaker feel valued and understood. Third, it validates the thoughts and experiences of the communicator. Fourth, active listening fosters a deeper connection between individuals. Lastly, it enables the listener to gain context, acting as a filter for better understanding and response.
